I am doing techno/abstract music live including my eurorack modular, 303, analog rytm and octatrack. as I want to use the octatrack as the heart of the live-set (kinda like ableton, using it for playbacks, sample-playing and MIDI sequencin) I am considering a external controller to control the octatrack. Elektron’s Octatrack has been around since 2010, with Digitakt about to make its launch. But it remains a bedrock of a lot of live rigs.

Our drummer uses a MachineDrum as a live sequencer / effects processor for his Roland Octapad digital drum pad. Due to some upcoming gigs, I am trying to set up a decent live-setup and I'd be interested in your thoughts on this. Setup: Drums, Bass (Synth & Bass player), Guitar, Vox. Now; I don't want to carry along any computer +audio interface blabla, therefore I thought to get an MPC 1000 or an Octatrack; The Octatrack has been harder to navigate than expected, but most of what I do stems from samples and keeping a mangler on deck is never a bad idea.
